OPERA (phase 2) Newsletter - issue #5 - April 2009.
In this issue: OPERA Project is now finished as the Final Review of the Project took place in Madrid on February 24th and 25th. European Commission officers and independent experts rated OPERA as good to excellent project, the highest possible mark. It has been a pleasure for all OPERA members to work developing the future of PLC technology and opening the results for all interested players. Now it is time to say "goodbye".

In this issue: The final Newsletter of OPERA Project has already been distributed. OPERA says “see you soon” to the PLC community. The Project is finishing but OPERA partners will continue working together to consolidate and to share the results of this successful Project. OPERA spirit will remain in PLC business and its results will contribute to have a PLC technology mature, useful and available in the market..

In this issue: Opera Project phase 2 is in its home straight. After three years and a half we have covered a lot of ground in order to improve PLC technology. And we are proud because our technical work and other activities have been carried out with success.
Some technology improvements have been achieved (firmware, services, field trials, Electromagnetic Compatibility and coupling issues) and some opportunities have been noted for further enhancement during the rest of the project.The most important period starts now: the final part of the Project has to be the most active in terms of achievement of objectives, development of prototypes, participation..
